I am a Data Scientist, for me this means that I combine my business insight with my mathematical, statistical, and computer science expertise to find effective solutions to complex problems.
My studies of mathematics and physics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich provided me with an excellent foundation of tools for quantitative problem solving, which I have continuously expanded. And during my time at McKinsey & Co I have learned to effectively use these tools to solve real world problems.
For more than seven years I have been the leader of the forecasting team at Airbnb. I am proud that during this time I was always able to provide accurate and useful forecasts, at different levels of sophistication, appropriate to the level of the company. Further my problem solving skills proved to be useful in a number of related areas, most notably data engineering, revenue reporting, and foreign currency hedging.
